Robert J. Keach and Albert Togut
Co-Chairs | ABI Commission for Chapter 11 Reform
Robert J. Keach is co-chair of Bernstein Shur’s Business Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group. His practice focuses on the representation of various parties in workouts and bankruptcy cases, including debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees, lessors, and third parties acquiring troubled companies and/or their assets. Keach has appeared before the bankruptcy courts in the Districts of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Delaware, the Southern District of New York, the Middle District of Florida, the Middle District of Louisiana, and the Eastern District of New York. Keach regularly serves as a panelist on national bankruptcy, lender liability, and creditors’ rights programs, and is the author of several articles on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights. Keach is the chairman of the board of directors of the American Bankruptcy Institute and a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy. He can be reached at rkeach@bernsteinshur.com.

For the past 36 years, Albert Togut has specialized in bankruptcy law to the exclusion of all other areas of practice. His law firm, established in 1980, has extensive experience in hundreds of cases representing Chapter 11 debtors, creditors’ committees, trustees and secured creditors. The firm is debtor’s counsel in some of the largest and highest profile Chapter 11 cases, including General Motors, Chrysler Automotive, Ambac Financial, Loehman’s, DBSD North America, Delphi, Enron and St. Vincent’s Hospitals among others. Togut is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy, a Fellow of the International Insolvency institute, a Director of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) and immediate past Chair of its New York City program.
