Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has bolstered its North American Commercial Restructuring practice with the addition of seasoned restructuring expert David Miller who joins the group as a Managing Director in its Atlanta office.
Miller’s career has spanned more than 30 years, during which he has worked on over 150 transactions, primarily out-of-court workouts and Chapter 11 reorganizations for companies such as Delta Airlines and United Companies Financial Corporation. Miller has worked on behalf of large and mid-size companies; significant stakeholders, such as secured creditors, unsecured creditors and equity holders; and boards of directors, a role that draws upon his experience as a member of two corporate boards. He has extensive expertise in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and corporate finance deals.
Miller’s experience encompasses a wide range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, broadcast media, building products, business services, capital equipment, consumer products, distribution, financial services, infrastructure, metals, oil and natural gas, oilfield services, paper and packaging, plastics, real estate, retail and transportation.

Before joining A&M, Miller spent nine years in Atlanta and New York City with Macquarie Capital (USA) where he was a managing director in the Restructuring and Special Situations Group. He has also served as a founding member of Giuliani Capital Advisors and previously ran the Atlanta office of Ernst & Young Corporate Finance.
Miller earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Emory University; holds a Certification in Distressed Business Valuation (CDBV); and is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA). He is a current member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, and Turnaround Management Association.
