IFA’s 23rd Annual Factoring Conference Registration Opens

November 28, 2016, 07:39 AM

Registration is now open for the International Factoring Association’s (IFA) 23rd Annual Factoring Conference, to be held April 5-8 at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel, TX. The world's largest conference dedicated to banks and finance companies that offer factoring and receivables financing, is expected to top all previous attendance records.

The presentation creating the most advance buzz this year is What Factors Can Learn from the Fintech Disruption. Four distinguished panelists will discuss how these lenders have been able to deliver funding to the small business community more quickly than the typical factor, despite being more costly.

Another top draw this year is keynote speaker Dr. Beck Weathers, survivor of the 1996 Mount Everest tragedy, whose story has captivated and inspired for nearly 20 years. Fueled by visions of his family, he miraculously survived one of the most violent and deadly storms in the history of Mt. Everest that killed eight other climbers. Thanks to the help of climbers who took shelter before the storm, including renowned filmmaker David Breashears, he lived to tell his emotional and inspiring story of hope in the face of insurmountable odds.

Dan Burrus, Author, Business Strategist, and Technology Futurist will give another keynote on Thursday titled “Anticipating Disruptions.” He is considered one of the world’s leading technology forecasters and business strategists, and is the founder and CEO of Burrus Research, a research and consulting firm that monitors global advancements in technology-driven trends to help clients better understand how technological, social, and business forces are converging to create enormous, untapped opportunities.

More than 65 speakers will present valuable insight and viewpoints, with topics as diverse as Credit and Underwriting Best Practices, and Blockchain-What It Is and Global Implications. The three-day conference will also feature presentations from around the world including Documenting for Latin America Factoring Transactions, Canadian Legal Update, and How to Factor Chinese Receivables.

There will be many other sessions to choose from, including a presentation delivered by William A. Strauss, Senior Economist and Economic Advisor, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. His chief responsibilities include analyzing the current performance of both the Midwest economy and the manufacturing sector for use in monetary policy.

Returning to this year’s conference will be roundtable discussions created to allow an open discussion forum for the conference attendees. Roundtables have been created for Women in Commercial Finance, Senior Executives, Young Professionals, Small Factors and Operations Personnel. Each roundtable will be led by industry professionals familiar with the specific group.

The full agenda and registration details are available on the event website at www.factoringconference.com.
