November 06, 2017, 07:00 AM

Hilco Industrial, an industrial auctioneer, in partnership with Aaron Equipment Company and Perry Videx, is hosting a series of sales for Dow Chemical featuring equipment used in the production of PV solar film, prototyping and R&D. The equipment is in: Schkopau, Germany; Midland, Michigan and Menlo Park, California, USA; and Seneffe, Belgium.

For companies involved in the solar space, film extrusion or machining, these auctions offer an opportunity for major production expansion at much lower cost than buying new equipment.

The complete film extrusion, converting & packaging line in Germany includes: (4) Macro Engineering & Technology single screw extruders to 6”; EDI auto dies: 91” & 96”, with 7-layer feed block; an annealing oven; a Macro Engineering 3-roll calendar; and related up & downstream support equipment. All of this equipment was new in 2012 and has very low hours.

A smaller replica of this system is in Michigan and includes: (3) Macro extruders to 5”; EDI AutoFlex AF6R extrusion dies; and related up & downstream support equipment. All of this equipment was new in 2010.

In Belgium, a large quantity of research and development equipment will be available, featuring: a BTU PV609 belt furnace; BTU HV90 belt dryer; Roth & Rau AK1000 remote plasma system; IPTE solar wafer laser station with Trumpf laser, camera system, auto alignment; and a Semian Technology wet gas scrubber & gas burner. This is only a small sampling of the equipment, which was all new in 2011.

Finally, there are (2) 2013 Fryer CNC vertical machining centers, which were used for prototype work, available for sale by private negotiation. These machines are located in Menlo Park, California.

The sales in Germany, Michigan, and Belgium will be individual timed, online auctions hosted on Hilcobid. All the auctions will open on 7 November and will close on consecutive days beginning 14 November.
