Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has expanded its forensic technology offerings with the appointment of Vincent Walden in New York as Managing Director within its Disputes and Investigation practice. His appointment aligns with A&M’s strategy to bolster its forensic data analytics, compliance and information governance offerings to help clients address evolving regulatory guidance and implement programs that measurably improve corporate integrity and business ethics.

Mr. Walden has more than 20 years of experience delivering leading technology solutions at Big Four consulting firms on both proactive compliance programs and reactive investigations. He will be part of A&M’s global leadership team of skilled forensic technology and data mining professionals. Mr. Walden will advise A&M’s clients on data analytics, continuous controls monitoring, business integrity, information governance and legal discovery services.

Mr. Walden has extensive experience in anti-fraud and surveillance analytics, and anti-bribery and corruption compliance monitoring. He also has deep insights in using leading technology approaches in artificial intelligence and proprietary anti-fraud behavioral algorithms. During his career, he provided information management, forensic analysis and electronic discovery services in large scale, complex litigations; and proactive anti-fraud and compliance monitoring programs. Mr. Walden also specializes in detecting high risk transactions or communications - whether in the form of risky vendors, customers or employees. His unique and proprietary risk scoring algorithms, methodologies and library of tests enable his team to deliver effective monitoring solutions that measurably demonstrate compliance effectiveness or business integrity.

Mr. Walden’s appointment follows on multiple hires of cybersecurity and forensic technology experts across the United States and in Europe by A&M’s Disputes and Investigations practice this year.

“Organizations and companies are increasingly concerned about demonstrating measurable compliance effectiveness that resonate with shareholders, employees and the regulators. The growth of our forensic and monitoring capabilities reflects our commitment to provide our clients the tools and counsel they need to effectively manage their legal, compliance and fraud risk issues,” said Mark Kindy, Managing Director and co-leader of A&M’s Forensic Technology Services practice. “Vincent’s vast experience and expertise in anti-fraud and forensic data analytics enhances our ability to maximize value for our clients.”

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Walden was a partner at Ernst & Young LLP where he specialized in forensic technology supporting investigative and legal matters. Before EY, he worked at KPMG and Arthur Andersen. He also helped found and served as President and CFO of a privately-funded Internet company, which was subsequently sold.

Mr. Walden earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Southern California in Los Angeles and completed the Harvard Leadership Program at Harvard Business School. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner.
