Farmington Bank Names Schweighoffer to Chief Lending Officer; Burns to Chief Risk Officer

Farmington Bank announced the appointment of Michael T. Schweighoffer to the newly-created position of Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer; and the promotion of Catherine M. Burns to Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer.

"Michael and Cathy have been trusted and valuable members of Farmington Bank's senior management team for years. I look forward to their continuing leadership and counsel as we move ahead," said John J. Patrick Jr., Chairman, President and CEO of Farmington Bank.

In the position of Chief Lending Officer, Schweighoffer will oversee Farmington Bank's Commercial and Consumer Lending as well as Cash Management services. Schweighoffer came to Farmington Bank in 2009, when he was appointed Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer. Schweighoffer, with nearly 30 years of experience in state banking, came to Farmington Bank from TD Bank where he served as Connecticut President and Senior Loan Officer. He has also held the positions of Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of TD Bank, Vice President and Regional Manager of the Hartford Commercial Lending group for People's United Bank, and in various capacities at Connecticut National Bank/Shawmut Bank.

As Chief Risk Officer, Burns will oversee Farmington Bank's Risk Management Group and the execution of all risk management activities.  Burns, who has 32 years of diverse banking experience, came to Farmington Bank in 2010, when she was appointed Senior Vice President, Chief of Staff to the President.  Burns previously worked at TD Bank, where she served as Senior Vice President, Head of Community Banking and Commercial Lending; Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending Regional Executive; Senior Vice President, Chief of Staff, Commercial Lending; and Vice President, Commercial Credit Manager.  Prior to her time at TD Bank, she worked at BayBank for 15 years in various retail, operations and commercial banking capacities.
