Zolfo Cooper and Talbot Hughes McKillop (THM), leading independent restructuring advisors, announced that they have entered into an affiliation agreement to cooperate on global restructuring engagements.

The two firms specialize in helping corporate stakeholders solve their most difficult financial, strategic and operational problems in restructuring situations spanning the mid-market to the most complex cross-border cases. Zolfo Cooper and London-based THM share a core skillset of hands-on restructuring expertise, providing operational and financial advice to management teams, equity sponsors and lenders, including distressed investment funds. Both firms take CRO and other executive and board roles, as well as lead crisis stabilization, distressed debt restructurings and post-transaction transformations.

Commenting on the affiliation, Joff Mitchell, Senior Managing Director and head of Zolfo Cooper’s U.S. practice, said: "Building on our existing network of affiliations in the Caribbean, Asia and Australia, this new agreement further extends our ability to provide our clients with best-in-class restructuring expertise via a global network of over 400 restructuring and advisory professionals. We’re delighted to expand our relationship with the THM team in Europe as we both see significant opportunities in the cross-border market."

Matt Hinds, Talbot Hughes McKillop Managing Partner, added: "This is a great time to be forming this alliance. Given the large scale issuance of high yield bonds in Europe governed by New York law and the increasing influence of US investors, we expect to see an upturn in European restructuring and advisory work that may benefit from a US capability. We have successfully worked closely with the Zolfo Cooper US team in the past and we are looking forward to working with them again. We believe clients will benefit significantly from this alliance given our combined skills and geographic coverage."
