WFCF Names Torres to Lead Staffing Services, Cates for Special Services

Wells Fargo Capital Finance announced that their Commercial Services group has named Raphael Torres to lead the Staffing Services division and Pamela Cates will assume the National Portfolio Manager role for all the specialty teams that include Government Services, Staffing Services and Transportation Services.

“Raph and Pam bring extensive knowledge and expertise to their roles,” stated Kevin Gillespie, executive vice president, Commercial Services Group. “Raph and Pam will continue to strengthen our ability to structure and deliver financing solutions to support our customers.”

Torres brings more than 13 years of banking experience, having held various positions at Wells Fargo. Torres started his career as a relationship associate and subsequently promoted to a relationship manager in short order during which time he handled some of the group’s most complex transactions. Most recently, Torres held the position of portfolio manager, leading a team of relationship mangers in the Staffing Services division. During his time at Wells Fargo, Torres has been an active member of the American Staffing Association. He has twice won the Staffing Services division’s “Team Member of the Year” award, in both 2009 and 2012, as well as a one of Wells Fargo prestigious awards, The Golden Spoke.

Cates has 27 years of experience in the financial services industry. She started her career at Wells Fargo in 1989 as a credit analyst. For the past 21 years, Cates has been working for Wells Fargo Capital Finance. During this time, she has negotiated, documented, and managed a portfolio of numerous asset-based loans, worked with turnaround professionals and companies in financial distress, and gained experience in bankruptcy and the liquidation of collateral. Her tenure at Wells Fargo Capital Finance includes various managerial roles, and most recently leading a team for the transportation division in Commercial Services as a portfolio manager.

Wells Fargo Capital Finance is the trade name for certain asset-based lending services, senior secured lending services, accounts receivable and purchase order finance services, and channel finance services of Wells Fargo & Company and its subsidiaries, and provides traditional asset-based lending, specialized senior and junior secured financing, accounts receivable financing, purchase order financing and channel finance to companies across the United States and internationally.
