Date: Apr 30, 2014 @ 07:15 AM

Salus Capital Partners announced the following new hires: Brian T. Kennedy as Special Opportunities team leader and Matthew J. DeLoffi as VP of Risk Management and Collateral Oversight.

Brian T. Kennedy joins Salus as a Senior Vice President, Special Opportunities Team Leader, primarily responsible for identifying and implementing strategies designed to mitigate the risks associated with portfolio lending activities.  Kennedy also oversees the structuring and underwriting of new and amended loans from a risk mitigation point of view with a focus on pre/post funding analytics and related diligence activities.  Kennedy has over 15 years of asset-based lending experience across many industries including retail, distribution, manufacturing, and service.  Prior to joining Salus, Kennedy was a Director at Wells Fargo Capital Finance, where he underwrote middle market asset-based transactions for US, UK, and Canadian companies in commercial and industrial segments. He was also previously a Vice President at GMAC Commercial Finance in Quincy, Massachusetts, where he underwrote and managed asset-based facilities in the retail and consumer products industry.

Matthew J. DeLoffi joins Salus as a Vice President, Risk Management and Collateral Oversight, responsible for collateral analytics as it relates to portfolio monitoring and underwriting. DeLoffi supports Risk Management through proactive modeling, analysis and monitoring of collateral and its corresponding value.  Prior to joining Salus, DeLoffi was an Accredited Senior Appraiser at Gordon Brothers Group, responsible for the valuation of industrial and wholesale inventories.  He was also previously a Manager at National Capital Management where he was responsible for the due diligence and valuation of bankruptcy-impaired receivables.  DeLoffi is a senior member of the American Society of Appraisers.

Salus Capital is a direct originator of secured asset-based loans to the middle market across a variety of industries with additional complementary financing throughout the capital structure. Target transaction sizes range from $5 to $50 million, with the ability to hold up to $100 million and to syndicate larger transactions. The Salus Capital platform may also serve as an asset manager for like-minded institutional investors such as community and regional banks, insurance companies, family offices, private equity funds and hedge funds who may lack the infrastructure and dedicated competency within senior secured lending.
