Houlihan Lokey Continues Expansion of Dispute Resolution Practice

Date: Jun 20, 2017 @ 07:26 AM

Investment Bank Houlihan Lokey, Inc. announced that Jeffrey Baliban has joined the firm as a Managing Director in the Dispute Resolution Consulting practice within Financial Advisory Services (FAS). He is based in New York.

Baliban joins from Citrin Cooperman & Co, where he was a Partner in the Valuation and Dispute Services practice, focusing on measuring economic impact, value, and damages in a range of complex commercial disputes, including breach of contract and tort claims, business valuation, intellectual property matters, shareholder disputes and business dissolution, post-acquisition disputes, and many others. His prior experience also includes serving as a Senior Partner in the Forensic & Litigation Services practice at KPMG and as a Senior Vice President at NERA Economic Consulting. Baliban began his career at Ernst & Ernst (now EY) in 1977.

“As we continue to build the Dispute Resolution Consulting practice, we seek individuals with deep experience in a wide range of engagements, client types, industries, and geographies, and Jeff is no exception,” said John Taylor, Head of Dispute Resolution Consulting at Houlihan Lokey. “Jeff is an excellent cultural fit for our practice and our approach to client service, and I’m confident that his expertise will be of great benefit to our clients as we help them navigate complex commercial disputes,” he added.

Baliban’s hire follows the firm’s June 6 announcement that Mark Hayden has joined the Dispute Resolution Consulting practice as a Managing Director.

“Joining a firm with the global reach, commitment to client service, and breadth of services that Houlihan Lokey possesses is exciting, particularly at this stage of the firm’s growth. I look forward to joining my colleagues both in the Dispute Resolution Consulting practice and across the firm to continue delivering the world-class service for which the firm is known around the world,” said Mr. Baliban.

Baliban holds a B.S. in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University and an M.A. in Economics from the University of Texas. He is also Certified in Financial Forensics by the AICPA, a Chartered Global Management Accountant, and a CPA in both Texas and New York with an Accreditation in Business Valuation (ABV).
