FTI Consulting Enhances Healthcare Transactions Expertise

Date: Oct 17, 2017 @ 07:26 AM

FTI Consulting, Inc. announced the appointment of Stephen Kunkle as a Managing Director in the firm’s Transaction Services practice within its Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment.

Kunkle, who will be based in Atlanta, brings extensive expertise in the healthcare sector, including advising companies engaged in transactions with physician and dental practices, hospital systems, hospice and home health, health management organizations, payors and others. He will assist corporate and private equity clients with financial due diligence and M&A accounting advisory services for transactions.

“We are committed to enhancing our healthcare expertise, as we see a number of opportunities to assist private equity and corporate clients,” said Scott Bingham, Co-Leader of the U.S. Transaction Services practice at FTI Consulting. “The uncertainty that the healthcare reform debate has created will lead many organizations to reassess their strategic options. Stephen’s experience adds to our deep bench of talent and will help our clients as they evaluate potential transactions.”

Kunkle joins FTI Consulting from Riveron Consulting in Atlanta. Prior experience includes Warbird Consulting Partners, Alvarez & Marsal and PricewaterhouseCoopers. While Kunkle will work with clients nationally, he will have a particular focus on the Nashville market, working with FTI Consulting’s Healthcare Advisory Services practice in the region to assist local healthcare organizations with transactions.

“FTI Consulting’s industry focus was one of the factors that drew me to the firm, particularly the breadth and depth of its healthcare advisory offering, which covers the full spectrum of financial, compliance and revenue cycle needs and opportunities,” Kunkle said. “I’m excited to join the team at FTI Consulting and help clients achieve their business objectives, especially in an uncertain regulatory environment.”

The addition of Kunkle continues FTI Consulting’s investment in its healthcare industry expertise over the past year. In May 2017, James McLain joined FTI Capital Advisors, the wholly owned investment banking subsidiary of FTI Consulting, where he focuses on numerous strategic and financial transactions for healthcare companies. In October 2016, Charles Ditkoff joined the Transaction Services practice as a Senior Advisor, focusing on enhancing and expanding the depth and breadth of FTI Consulting’s relationships with healthcare organizations and private equity firms.
