Citizens Expands Capabilities by Adding Insurance Industry Banking Expertise

Date: Oct 01, 2019 @ 09:00 AM

Citizens Commercial Banking has hired two senior bankers as it increases its commitment to its financial institution and insurance industry clients. Peter Wesemeier, based in Atlanta, and Ben Los, based in Chicago, have joined Citizens as managing directors and will work with Boston-based David Bosselait as financial and strategic partners to Citizens’ existing and new financial institution and insurance industry clients. These moves bring additional expertise to bear as Citizens continues to expand its nationwide presence.

Wesemeier joins Citizens from Regions Bank where he helped found their Financial Services Group and served as Head of Financial Institutions Credit Products. Formerly a senior vice president at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Los has more than a decade of experience working as a strategic partner with financial institution and insurance industry clients.

“Citizens offers mid-sized insurance companies an unequaled combination of financial strength and deep insurance industry expertise to help guide them through whatever opportunity or disruption their business may face,” said Steve Woods, head of corporate banking at Citizens. “Citizens clients get expert insights from a team of senior-level insurance industry bankers, the financial strength and capabilities of one of the largest commercial banks in the United States and a comprehensive suite of liquidity management and payment solutions, customizable to meet the unique needs of insurance industry clients.”

Citizens is positioned as a strategic and financial partner, offering deep expertise, great ideas and seamless deal execution. The Citizens Commercial Banking approach puts clients first, and offers solutions that help clients make the best decisions throughout the life cycle of their business.
