Alvarez & Marsal Taxand Strengthens International Tax Practice with Managing Director

Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC (A&M Taxand), an affiliate of leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), has bolstered its international tax practice with the addition of Christopher Kotarba, who joins as a Managing Director in the San Jose office.

Chris will leverage his proven track record of success in driving corporate expansion internationally to help our clients navigate shifting complexities in order to optimize their global tax and operational profile.”
 
Mr. Kotarba specializes in international tax. He has deep expertise in planning, structuring, and transfer pricing, both outbound and inbound, for multinational companies of all sizes. His experience spans many industry sectors, including technology (both software and hardware), pharmaceutical, medical devices and financial services.
 
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Kotarba worked as an attorney with DLA Piper in Palo Alto, Calif. In this role, he led over a dozen global expansion and other corporate restructuring projects. He also developed a focus for U.S. companies with Asian operations and closed a high-profile joint venture in China. Recently, he has helped companies onshore their intellectual property (IP) to the U.S., both permanently and temporarily. Adding to his international experience, he was also briefly seconded to DLA Piper’s Hong Kong office, where he worked with Asian companies expanding to the U.S.
 
Mr. Kotarba earned a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School and a Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in California, New York and Massachusetts.
