Alvarez & Marsal Appoints New Disputes and Investigations Practice Leaders

Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) announces Jerry Dent and Phil Beckett as the new Practice Leaders of the firm’s Disputes and Investigations group in North America and Europe, respectively. In their new roles, Mr. Dent and Mr. Beckett will work to advance A&M’s complex problem-solving capabilities for clients facing a shifting regulatory, data-driven digital environment.

Mr. Dent joined A&M in 2007 as a Managing Director and Co-Head of the Real Estate and Environmental Economics practice. He specializes in analyzing class action claims of property value diminution matters involving air, groundwater, surface water and soil contaminants. Mr. Dent has worked in more than two dozen states and multiple countries. He has extensive experience developing and administrating value assurance programs, settlement frameworks and settlement funds.

Mr. Beckett joined A&M in 2015 as a Managing Director and leader of its European Disputes and Investigations Forensic Technology practice. He advises clients across multiple sectors on forensic investigations of digital evidence, the interrogation of complex data sets, information governance, cyber risk and the disclosure of electronic documents. He regularly serves as an IT forensics expert and has in-depth knowledge of cross-border jurisdictional and global regulatory data issues. Additionally, Mr. Beckett has led numerous high-profile e-discovery cases, including litigation in the High Court of Justice in London, as well as many European, Asian, U.S. and Canadian cases.
