Alvarez & Marsal Expands CFO Services Team to Meet Growing Demand

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) appointed Dallas-based Omar Mata a Managing Director in its Private Equity Performance Improvement group. Mata joins the group’s expanding CFO Services vertical, where he will focus on assisting organizations improve their finance/accounting functions to positively impact business performance. His appointment is in response to increasing demand for critical finance transformation and performance improvement.

“As financial executives face tremendous pressure to overcome the challenges and the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is our objective to offer advice that enables our clients to pivot to recovery on a stronger financial footing,” said Nick Alvarez, Managing Director and National Practice Leader of A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement group. “Omar’s addition to the team strengthens our capability to support the CFO office and function as it addresses the short- and medium-term needs during these uncertain times.”

Mr. Mata will advise companies on improving performance through enhanced forecasting capabilities, process automation, technology integration, acceleration of close and consolidation processes, and improved reporting for decision-making. He has advised CFOs on finance transformation projects in more than 20 countries and has extensive experience introducing digital transformation to CFO functions.

“Omar brings years of financial transformation expertise and a track record of success that will serve A&M’s clients effectively,” said Richard Jenkins, Managing Director and leader of the CFO Services practice of A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement group. “He joins us at a time when strategic operational improvement and sound financial management is critical to building stability. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Mata spent 15 years at Deloitte Consulting U.S., where he was a Partner. During this time, he created and led the Finance Transformation practice in South America. Previously, Mr. Mata was a Director of Finance at a Fortune 10 organization.
