Date: Nov 03, 2020 @ 07:08 AM

Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC (A&M Taxand), an affiliate of leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), announced two senior hire appointments that build on the firm’s tax advisory expertise and augment its transformation bench strength. The hiring of Senior Directors Thomas Ewigleben and Josh Din aligns with A&M Taxand’s strategic approach of providing impactful solutions to companies implementing transformation in response to unprecedented disruption, market turbulence and COVID-19 pandemic challenges.

Mr. Ewigleben will advise clients on Supply and Value Chain Strategies that require technically complex and demanding strategic tax planning solutions. Mr. Din, who specializes in Tax Technology and Automation, will focus on tax operational strategy, technology roadmap development and implementation. Their collective expertise strengthens A&M Taxand’s advisory services and transformation offerings, including global operating model redesign, value chain realignment, performance improvement, the deployment of advanced technology, and cost takeout.

A&M Taxand Managing Director Albert Liguori will lead the firm’s corporate transformation tax initiatives and will drive the practice focus on corporate performance improvement.

“Due to the rapidly evolving U.S. and global economy, companies are undergoing significant transformational events, such as shifting geographical operating costs, adapting to changing trade policies, and updating their operating models,” said Ernesto R. Perez, Managing Director and Global Practice Leader of Alvarez & Marsal Taxand. “COVID-19 accelerated digital technology implementation and the reassessment of end-to-end supply chains. Our specialized tax services combined with A&M’s leadership, action and results approach helps maximize value for clients.”

Mr. Ewigleben has extensive international tax and supply chain experience. He has advised global companies spanning pharmaceutical, consumer products, chemical, energy, high tech, and automotive industries. Additionally, he has helped multinational companies align their operational and commercial requirements with tax planning strategies, and strengthened clients’ tax and non-tax functions. During his 28-year career, Mr. Ewigleben served for 16 years as a Tax Managing Director at Deloitte and KPMG.

Mr. Din has more than 13 years of experience driving transformation through market-leading tax technology for multinational clients across multiple industries. His areas of expertise include enterprise-wide implementation of data automation tools and analytics, robotics process automation, tax data management and platform design. He joins A&M Taxand from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was a Tax Director.

“We are committed to providing robust tax advisory services, encompassing deep corporate transformation expertise, to address our clients’ current needs and anticipate emerging concerns,” said Mr. Liguori. “Tom and Josh bring specialized knowledge and cutting-edge know-how that will augment A&M’s ability to help clients drive change and optimize their transformation.”
