Date: Apr 27, 2022 @ 07:20 AM

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) announced that Simon Joyeux will join the firm’s Global Transaction Advisory Group (TAG) as a Managing Director based in New York. Mr. Joyeux was formerly a Partner at Ernst & Young (EY). He joins A&M with extensive cross-border expertise and direct working experience with C-suite executives, private equity (PE) firms, and transaction advisors.

Noting private equity funds’ continued investment surge into healthcare, Managing Director and Global Transaction Advisory Group Healthcare Industry Leader, Michael Cole, said, “Healthcare investments are complex and require in-depth sector expertise along with deep M&A experience. Simon’s decades of transaction advisory knowledge and insights will help clients navigate the challenges they face unlocking value from their investment decisions.”

Mr. Joyeux will advise PEs and corporates on the acquisition and divestiture of healthcare and life sciences assets. He has significant pharma, medical device, contract research, contract manufacturing, physician practice management, revenue cycle management, pharmacy benefit managers (PBM) and payor services space experience. Additionally, Mr. Joyeux has led more than 300 financial diligence projects for private equity and corporate clients, including platform acquisitions, add-on transactions, spin-off, carve-out, mergers, debt-offering and chapter 11 acquisitions.

Prior to joining A&M, he served as Partner, US-East Strategy and Transaction Health Sciences and Wellness Market Leader at EY. While there, Mr. Joyeux led and coordinated that firm’s Strategy and Transaction (SAT) services offering across key accounts and go-to-market efforts. Additionally, he has held transaction diligence roles in the US and corporate finance roles in France.

Following the recent addition of automotive industry transactions specialist and Managing Director David Evans, Mr. Joyeux’s appointment builds on Global TAG’s multi-industry sector expansion strategy. His hire extends A&M’s significant transaction advisory experience with strategic and financial buyers operating across the healthcare and life sciences sectors.

Paul Aversano, Managing Director and Global TAG’s Global Practice Leader, said, “Simon’s cross-border experience complements our strategic global growth plan as demonstrated with recent leader hires in Italy, Switzerland, Spain and the United Arab Emirates.  His joining enhances A&M’s ability to assess key deal drivers and deliver results along with strengthening our global network of boots-on-the-ground experts from an industry sector perspective.”

Anthony Caporrino, a Managing Director and Global TAG’s US Practice Leader, said, “Simon’s in-depth sector knowledge, alongside side his financial due diligence buy and sell side work on behalf of mid-cap private equity firms, mega PEs and corporates, will benefit clients targeting healthcare businesses. His operational background dovetails with A&M’s heritage, results-oriented mindset and commitment to maximizing value.”
