“The addition of Meghann to our Chicago office will expand the firm’s capabilities in representing our institutional clients in the Midwest and nationally,” said Matt Nash, the managing partner of the firm’s Chicago office and a Co-Chair of the firm’s Real Estate Finance Practice Group. Matt added, “The firm continues to focus on having a team with the experience and skills to enhance the firm’s position as a national leader in providing clients with real estate finance legal services.”

“I decided to join Riemer & Braunstein as I felt this move would provide me with a much broader and established platform to provide a full range of services to my finance clients,” said Meghann Salamasick. “I have worked with the Riemer & Braunstein team on many complicated transactions and have been impressed with the firm’s leadership and collegiality, as well as the high level of quality representation and market insight provided by the firm to its clients.”

Salamasick's representative transactions include construction loans for arena, hospital, university, mixed-use, residential, student housing, and hotel projects, secured and unsecured credit facilities for REITs, corporate loan structures with real estate credit support, portfolio real estate loans to private equity investors and senior/mezzanine capital stack financing. In addition, Salamasick has worked in distressed finance, including transactional and litigation practice related to defaults, workout strategies, foreclosures, restructures of commercial financing, and dispositions of REO distressed assets. Further, Salamasick has extensive experience in special assets portfolio management, negotiations with distressed debtors, and structuring optimal recovery of collateral.
