Date: Dec 01, 2023 @ 06:00 AM

Brown Rudnick announced that Peter Farrell has joined its Washington, D.C., office as a partner in the Tax group.

Farrell’s practice focuses on corporate tax, income tax planning, international tax, spin-offs and mergers and acquisitions. He brings extensive experience in matters involving creating tax-efficient structures for domestic and international transactions, including joint ventures, separations, restructurings and other reorganizations. He also advises clients on tax matters related to internal planning, capital markets, debt financings and renewable energy projects.

“We are excited to add Peter to our Tax group,” said Mark Dorff, managing director of the Firm’s Corporate & Capital Markets Department. “His deep tax experience and dedication will further fortify our commitment to delivering exceptional legal counsel on high-stakes matters.”

Farrell previously was a special counsel at Baker Botts, where he began his private practice as an associate. He also served as a law clerk to U.S. Tax Court Judge Robert A. Wherry Jr.

“Peter is a great addition to the practice group,” said Nicole Bouchard, leader of the Firm's Tax Practice Group. “His proven track record will significantly enhance our Firm's already-strong capabilities in providing strategic tax solutions to meet our clients' diverse needs.”

Farrell received a B.A. from the University of Chicago, a J.D. from William & Mary Law School and an LL.M in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.

“I am eager to collaborate with the exceptional minds at Brown Rudnick and leverage our collective prowess in delivering innovative tax strategies,” Farrell said. “I look forward to making strong contributions and fostering client success in this new chapter of my career.”
