Date: Feb 07, 2014 @ 07:08 AM

Jeffery B. Hecktman, Chairman and CEO of Hilco Global made the following announcement on Feb 5, 2014:

"Effective on May 1, 2014, Jack Butler, one of the most well-known and highly regarded dealmakers and thought leaders in the restructuring, corporate reorganization and M&A community, will join our global organization as Executive Vice President. Jack will have specific responsibility for continuing to drive the growth and expansion of our client base around the world and, to reinforce our position as one of the world’s leading independent financial services organizations providing asset valuation, monetization and advisory solutions. He will work closely with me and our executive leaders at each of our business units in this important new role.

Jack's plan to join Hilco Global was announced confidentially to his current partners this afternoon at Skadden, the international law firm that he joined in 1990 to help found the firm's now preeminent corporate restructuring practice and where he was a practice leader for 23 years.

Jack spent the last several years advising unsecured creditors in American Airlines’ reorganization and its $18 billion merger with US Airways Group, Inc. which was completed in December. The deal was recognized by the Financial Times for innovation, collaboration and creativity and Jack was profiled in the Wall Street Journal which recognized him as the “deal key” in this successful merger.

During his career, Jack has advised global businesses in hundreds of cross-border restructurings, financing and privatization transactions, and helped acquire and/or divest various business lines and entities. He was named one of the decade’s most influential lawyers by The National Law Journal, and has been inducted into the M&A Advisors’ Hall of Fame and the Turnaround, Restructuring and Distressed Investing Industry Hall of Fame. A founder and past chairman of the Turnaround Management Association, Jack has served in leadership positions for many other industry organizations, including the American Bankruptcy Institute, American Board of Certification, the Commercial Finance Association and its Education Foundation, INSOL International, and the New York Institute of Credit. He is also a fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy and International Insolvency Institute.

Not only does Jack bring to Hilco Global his considerable credentials and outstanding reputation as a dealmaker, but he is equally as committed to his family, friends and community as he is to his professional life and career. In addition to teaching Sunday school, coaching his four children's athletic teams and serving in leadership positions with numerous civic and charitable organizations, Jack officiated high school and college football for many years and is a lifetime member of the American Football Coaches Association."
