Amalgamated Bank Names Minter to Chief Credit Risk Officer Post

Amalgamated Bank announced Mark Minter has been named chief credit risk officer. Minter has over four decades of experience in finance, including executive-level risk positions at RBS Citizens Financial Group, Inc., and Citigroup.

“We are delighted to welcome Mark to Amalgamated Bank,” said Keith Mestrich, president of Amalgamated Bank. “His deep knowledge and experience will benefit us tremendously as we look to grow the bank.”

Prior to joining Amalgamated, Minter worked at RBS Citizens Financial Group, Inc., where he managed over 100 credit officers as executive vice president and chief credit officer for its wholesale division. Before RBS Citizens, Minter was managing director and senior risk manager at Citigroup. He has also held leadership roles at Chase and IBJ Whitehall Bank & Trust.

Minter earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and his Master’s in Business Administration from New York University. He has been a trustee of Project Renewal, an organization that helps homeless men, women and children, and a board member of United Way of Pelham and the New Rochelle YMCA.

Established in 1923 by the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America, Amalgamated Bank continues the progressive traditions of its founders as the largest majority union-owned bank in the United States. The Bank’s corporate divisions include community banking, investment management, commercial lending, and commercial real estate finance. Amalgamated has 24 retail branches including 20 in New York City as well as branches in: Las Vegas, Nevada; Lyndhurst, New Jersey; Pasadena, California, and Washington, D.C.
