Date: Nov 24, 2014 @ 07:44 AM

Capital Business Credit, a global non-bank lender to the retail sector, announced that Michael Gross has joined the company as Executive Vice President and Senior Business Development Officer to help continue to grow its factoring and trade finance business for the apparel industries. Gross will report directly to Andrew Tananbaum, Executive Chairman of CBC.

Gross joins the company with more than 25 years of accounting, operations and financial management experience working with global apparel companies. In his new role, he will be responsible for growing CBC’s trade finance and factoring for the apparel and retail sectors along with strategic development and advisory for CBC’s other practices and industries.

“Michael’s proven track record in financial management and strategic consulting to the apparel and retail industries will be invaluable to our current and prospective clients, especially those that are looking for growth opportunities,” said Tananbaum. “His comprehensive background is the perfect complement to our existing team as we continue to grow our trade financing and factoring business together.”

Gross most recently spent seven years at A.H. Schreiber Co., one of the country’s leading manufacturers and distributors of women’s swimwear, as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Vice President of Operations.  Prior to A.H. Schreiber Co., he served as the CFO at a number of other fashion apparel companies and manufacturers such as Bill Blass and Winlit Group. He also previously held senior positions at accounting firms including Mahoney Cohen and Company and Rashba and Pokart PC.

“Having worked with CBC and its senior management for many years from the client side, I admired their ability to advise and help their clients expand and grow their businesses significantly,” said Gross. “I look forward to leveraging my expertise to further support CBC’s growth in the apparel sectors.”

Gross graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting. He is the chairman of the Board of Directors of Lifespire, a non-profit organization that’s committed to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. He is also an active member of Autism Society of America, Cure Autism Now and Autism Speaks, Inc.
