Date: Jun 03, 2016 @ 07:51 AM

Wells Fargo Corporate Banking announced that it has formalized the Consumer & Retail Group to focus on offering capital solutions, financing expertise and traditional banking products to customers in this sector.

“With the leadership we’ve established in the Consumer & Retail industry vertical, we have expertise in place to deepen the relationships we have with our customers,  as well as the resources and support to help them achieve financial success,” said Kyle Hranicky, head of Wells Fargo Corporate Banking.

Alex Idichandy, executive vice president, has been named head of the Consumer & Retail Corporate Banking group, responsible for serving corporate and institutional customers across the whole industry. He brings over 20 years of experience in financial services and has most recently lead the Eastern Division in U.S. Corporate Banking. He has held relationship manager and risk management positions prior to serving in several leadership roles.

Under his leadership, Irene Rosen Marks and Shannan Townsend, veterans of Wells Fargo, have joined Idichandy to build and expand the sub-industry verticals within the group.

Marks, formerly head of Originations for the Retail Finance Division of Wells Fargo Capital Finance, has joined the team as managing director and head of the Retail Group. The Retail Group provides innovative capital solutions, financing expertise and traditional banking products to retailers in all sub-sectors including department stores, apparel, hard lines, specialty and grocery. She brings with her nearly 20 years of experience working with retailers and apparel companies in a variety of sales, underwriting and relationship management roles.

Shannan Townsend, formerly head of the Southeast Division within Corporate Banking, now leads as executive vice president and head of the Consumer Group, which includes consumer product, food and beverage and tobacco sectors. Since joining Wells Fargo’s predecessor bank First Union in 1987, Townsend has focused on expanding client relationships, building partnerships and leading a variety of Corporate Banking efforts.
