Heritage Global Inc., a value-driven, a provider of corporate and financial asset liquidation transactions, valuations and advisory services, announced the launch of Heritage Global Patents & Trademarks, its newly formed Intellectual Property division for the sale of patents, trademarks and other intangible assets. HGPT complements and expands Heritage Global’s existing asset valuation, advisory, and auction capabilities by adding new service offerings to effectively market and monetize clients’ IP and intangible assets.
In conjunction with the launch of Heritage Global Patents & Trademarks, twenty-five year auction industry veteran Doug Berman has been appointed Director of the new division. In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing HGPT’s operations including developing and growing its customer base and implementing and executing effective sales and marketing strategies on behalf of clients. An accomplished industry veteran, Mr. Berman has extensive experience in IP and real estate auction services, sales management and new business development. He began successfully auctioning IP in the early 2000s and prior to that, served on a team that conducted the largest commercial real estate auctions on behalf of the Resolution Trust Corporation and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Mr. Berman also has a strong background in capital equipment auctions and valuations.
