Stonemont Financial Group, an Atlanta-based investment management firm, recently established an office in Charlotte and added three executives to its team. Matt McCoy, who will serve as president of the new Stonemont Income Fund, along with Jack Altmeyer and Claudia Hanby will head the new office and manage the Fund.

McCoy, who was most recently managing director and group head for the Corporate Net Lease Capital Markets group at Wells Fargo, along with Altmeyer and Hanby, bring broad-based experience and a proven track record of success to Stonemont. “This is the definition of an accretive, team acquisition,” said Zack Markwell, CEO of Stonemont. “We gain a proven, best-in-class, management team with extensive knowledge across the capital stack and credit spectrum relative to fixed income alternative, net lease investments. We are excited to launch Stonemont Income Fund with this new collective platform.”

McCoy brings more than 20 years of experience in the real estate and capital markets industries. During his tenure at Wells Fargo, McCoy’s group focused exclusively on single tenant, net leased transactions under a variety of operating lease, capital lease, and balance sheet structures, including sole equity/principal investments, balance sheet and securitized lending, and agency/advisory roles. Immediately prior to joining Wells Fargo, McCoy was an Assistant Vice President with Wells Real Estate Funds, a leading sponsor of non-traded REITs, Limited Partnerships, and 1031 TIC Programs. McCoy has extensive knowledge of corporate credit, real estate, tax, accounting, and legal concerns which define single tenant, net lease investing. McCoy holds a B.A. in English Literature from Wofford College and is a current member of its Investment Advisory Committee which oversees the investments of the college’s endowment. McCoy holds both Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.

Altmeyer also brings more than 20 years of experience to the Stonemont platform, the last 19 of which were at Wells Fargo. Most recently, Altmeyer served as a director in the net lease group led by McCoy. Throughout his career, Altmeyer has worked on the origination, structuring and execution of over $15 billion of sale-leaseback, build-to-suit, synthetic lease, and net lease loan transactions. Additionally, Altmeyer’s responsibilities included portfolio management and reporting of the group’s retained debt and equity investments. Altmeyer has a finance degree from the University of Miami and holds both Series 7 and Series 63 designations.

Hanby also joins Stonemont from Wells Fargo, last serving as an associate in the Corporate Net Lease Capital Markets group, where she played an integral role in transaction execution and corporate credit analysis. Hanby graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a degree in Communication Studies. She holds both Series 79 and Series 63 designations and is a CFA Level II candidate.
