June 01, 2018, 07:06 AM

Outcome Capital, a 20-year-old investment banking boutique that serves the middle market in the technology and life sciences sectors, today announced that Tom Peltier has joined the firm’s Technology group based in Reston, Virginia as a Managing Director. His addition to the firm complements Outcome’s existing coverage of the services and solutions segments of the technology market.

Peltier joins Outcome from Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Inc. where he founded and led the Aerospace, Defense and Government Services Investment Banking Group for over 20 years. Over his over 25+ year career, Peltier completed over 70 M&A transactions and 30 public offerings raising over $5 billion in proceeds in the government, intelligence and defense sector as well as commercial technology services.

Peltier has been a trusted advisor to many successful executives in the market and maintains an extensive network among both the sources of capital for these companies as well as the potential buyers of these businesses. He has a reputation for successfully closing complicated transactions where multiple parties may have varying goals. His clients have included Private Equity firms and their portfolio companies, as well as public companies and entrepreneur-owned businesses. Most recently, he advised NCI, Inc.  in its sale to HIG Capital for $283 million, Federal Data Systems (FedData) on its acquisition of the intelligence divisions of Intelligent Decisions, and the sale of Alliance Global Services to EPAM. As part of the FedData transactions, Tom helped FedData raise both private equity from Chart Capital Group in New York and debt financing from Wells Fargo to finance the acquisitions. Peltier also acted as M&A buy-side advisor to FedData in the acquisitions of the divisions.

“Tom led one of the leading government services practices in the United States. For many years, he advised industry-leading government services companies,” said Mike Cromwell, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Outcome Capital. “We are excited to help him further build his coverage of the government services sector, which has always been an important part of our broader technology services and solutions coverage.”

Jonathan Wallace, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Outcome Capital added, “We are very pleased Tom has decided to continue his very distinguished career at Outcome. Tom built a leading government services practice based on deep industry knowledge, a track record of successful transactions and great client services. With those qualities as the foundation for success, he is a great fit at Outcome. We further expect that those attributes will help us in our coverage of the broader technology market.”

“Outcome provides strong depth and a 20-year track record in both the public and private sector portions of the technology services and solutions markets that will enable me to deepen and broaden my practice and better serve my clients,” said Peltier. “There is great commonality between my practice and Outcome Capital. With the firm’s strong, values-driven culture and focus on client success, I am excited to join Outcome Capital as a Managing Director.”

Peltier received his BA from Bates College and his MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Prior to earning his MBA, Peltier was a senior consultant in Price Waterhouse’s Office of Government Services in Washington, D.C., where he worked with numerous civilian agencies. He was selected as the 2010 “Dealmaker of the Year” by the Washington Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. Peltier sits on several non-profit boards and is a frequent speaker at various industry conferences. He is a dedicated golfer and skier, married, has three children and lives in Baltimore, Maryland.
