SierraConstellation Partners, LLC (SCP), an interim management and advisory firm to middle-market companies in transition, announced that it has opened an office in Boston and hired financial industry veteran Tom Lynch as Managing Director to oversee the new office.

“When it comes to turning around companies and helping them navigate complex financial challenges, Tom’s hands-on experience is unimpeachable,” said Larry Perkins, SCP’s founder and CEO. “His expertise is exactly what our clients expect when they are facing bet-the-company scenarios and need an adviser they can trust. I also admire Tom’s demonstrated entrepreneurial instincts, which will help SCP grow its presence in the Boston market. We’re honored to have Tom join SCP and are looking forward to his great contributions to our team.”

Lynch’s career in finance and management spans over 25 years. Before joining SCP, Lynch was the Managing Partner and Founder of Woods Hole Capital, an asset management platform utilizing ABL strategies in the consumer sector, where he was involved in all aspects of the firm’s operations including accounting, financial reporting, and negotiating with all stakeholders. Prior to Woods Hole, he was the Chairman and CEO of Frederick’s of Hollywood, a publicly-traded apparel retailer, where he oversaw a six-year turnaround plan which culminated in a successful sale to a private equity buyer.

Earlier in his career, Tom served as the CEO of a significant global hedge fund with positions on five continents. He also served as a senior executive with Mellon Institutional Asset management, where he was a member of the senior management committee. Lynch holds a bachelor’s degree from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H.

“I couldn’t be happier to join Larry and the SierraConstellation team,” said Lynch. “The hard-nosed, hands-on work that SCP is known for is exactly the type of work I’ve enjoyed doing throughout my entire career. I’m looking forward to helping SCP build its Boston presence, and continue to expand its reputation as an indispensable adviser to middle-market companies in transition.”

SCP’s new Boston office opens as the firm continues to enjoy a surge of growth across the country. Since the start of 2018, SCP has grown by over 30 percent. In addition to its Los Angeles headquarters and the new Boston office, the firm opened an office in Houston in 2016 and has been building a strong presence in the southwest under the leadership of Managing Director Drew McManigle.

“Boston, and the northeast United States more broadly, are fruitful growth markets for our firm,” added Perkins. “We’ve worked with clients in this market since our founding, so having a presence in Boston gives us one more way to provide on-the-ground, hands-on service. We’re optimistic that this new office will help us establish a beachhead on the east coast and write another long chapter of growth for SCP.”
