AlixPartners Adds Arbitration & Damages Expert to Investigations, Disputes & Risk Practice

September 18, 2018, 07:06 AM

AlixPartners, the global consulting firm, announced that arbitration and damages expert Greig Taylor has joined the firm as a Managing Director in its Investigations, Disputes & Risk practice. He is based in AlixPartners’ New York office.

Taylor specializes in the identification and assessment of damages and related issues, and in expert testimony, in the context of international disputes.  He has testified and worked on numerous international arbitration matters for both claimants and respondents around the world, including in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America. He also has assisted clients in economic determinations of contracts and agreements in both contentious and non-contentious settings, and has provided litigation consulting involving forensic accounting and financial investigations under various national and international accounting and legal protocols.

He has been listed in the international Who’s Who Legal-Arbitration every year since 2014 as a leading expert witness—and in that publication he is described as one of the foremost experts in the United States. He has also been listed every year since 2015 in Who’s Who Legal’s “Top 100 Consulting Experts.”  And, earlier this year, he was recognized in Who’s Who Legal as a “Thought Leader in Arbitration.”

Prior to joining AlixPartners, Taylor was a senior managing director at FTI Consulting Inc., where he was a key member of that firm’s economic and financial consulting group and was also a member of its international arbitration practice. From 2006 to 2011, he was a senior manager at Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP, working on forensics and disputes issues from both London and New York.  Earlier in his career, he was an audit manager at accounting firm Deloitte & Touche LLP (now part of Deloitte Tohmatsu Ltd.), and from 1999 to 2001 was on the audit staff of accounting firm Arthur Andersen LLP.

Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Manchester in Manchester, England, and certification as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.

“We welcome Greig to our team at AlixPartners,” said Simon Freakley, CEO of AlixPartners. “Our investigations and economics consulting group is a growing and important one, and Greig’s deep skills in valuations and damages, along with his international experience, will be of great value to our clients.”
