AlixPartners, the global consulting firm, announced that consumer products expert Randy Burt has joined as a Managing Director and one of the key leaders in the firm’s global Consumer Products practice. He will be based in AlixPartners’ Chicago office.

Burt brings more than 20 years of combined industry and consulting experience to his new position, with a focus on the food industry among other consumer-products sectors. He has deep functional expertise in growth, digital, merchandising, supply-chain, procurement, and SG&A strategies, and has a proven track record in delivering strong financial and operating performance, structuring and leading strategic initiatives, and driving transformational change.

Burt joins AlixPartners from the consulting firm A.T. Kearney, where he spent a total of 16 years, most recently as a partner in its consumer industries and retail practice. Earlier in his career, he spent five years at the Nielsen Company, a division of Nielsen Holdings PLC, the well-known marketing data and measurement company. Rising to the position of vice president of US operations, his roles included the integration of multiple market-research businesses, the transformation of several core operations capabilities, and the implementation of Nielsen’s leading business-intelligence platform for 12 priority consumer-products clients.

Randy holds an MBA in management and strategy from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and a bachelor’s degree in politics and economics from Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey. Over the last several years, he has served on the Leadership Council of the non-profit Civic Consulting Alliance in Chicago and he sits on the board of Junior Achievement of Chicago.

“We are very pleased to welcome Randy to AlixPartners,” said Simon Freakley, CEO of AlixPartners. “His experience and results-oriented focus will be of great value to our clients in the food industry and many other sectors.”
