Gordon Brothers Group, a global advisory, restructuring and investment firm specializing in the retail, consumer products, industrial and real estate sectors, announced today the acquisition of Appraisal Systems, Inc., (ASI) a widely recognized appraisal firm that focuses on oil and gas related machinery & equipment valuations. The acquisition of this Texas-based company led to the formation of GB Energy Partners.

GB Energy Partners combines the energy expertise of Gordon Brothers Group, Emerald Technology Valuations and ASI into one comprehensive appraisal and disposition platform.

The ASI team, led by seasoned ASA’s, Jason Jones and Larry Lough, has decades of hands-on experience in the energy sector including oil and gas field services, onshore and offshore rigs, fracking equipment, short line railroad, pipe and valve and beyond.

“Following on the heels of the Emerald Technology Valuations acquisition last year, the acquisition of ASI now allows Gordon Brothers Group to provide one appraisal, disposition and lending platform focused on energy,” stated Kenneth Frieze, president of Gordon Brothers Group. “The formation of GB Energy Partners consolidates Gordon Brothers Group’s expertise across the six major areas of energy: oil, gas, coal, biofuels, solar and wind.”

“ASI’s expertise in the oil and gas sector significantly enhances the breadth of services that we can offer our appraisal and valuation clients,” added Stephen Sigel, Co-President of Gordon Brother Group’s Appraisal & Valuation Division.  “The command that Jason and Larry have of the oil and gas industry is incomparable.”

“Over the last 25 years, we have successfully provided in-depth expertise in an extremely precise industry. Joining GB Energy Partners allows us to share this skillset with a larger audience and expand our scope by partnering with Gordon Brothers Group’s different service areas,” said Larry Lough, President of ASI.
