AlixPartners announced that Irfan Bidiwala, a seasoned expert in the energy and a wide range of industrial sectors has joined as a Managing Director. He will be based in AlixPartners’ Houston office.

Irfan brings extensive experience in unlocking business value through commercial strategy development, revenue and growth enhancement, and business model redesign and transformation. He specializes in sales and marketing excellence, customer profitability, pricing optimization, go-to-market cost reduction, successful mergers and acquisitions, and embedding digital solutions that drive commercial value. His focus includes helping companies reinvent business models to survive and eventually thrive amidst the massive disruption currently taking place in the energy industry and industries adjacent to it.

Irfan’s clients include major international and national oil companies, renewable energy companies, industrial players, and private equity participants. Irfan has extensive global experience working across six continents and more than a dozen countries.

Irfan joins AlixPartners from the management consulting firm Oliver Wyman, where he was a partner and global lead of the Commercial Excellence function in its energy practice. Prior to that, he was an engagement manager in the energy and chemical practice at consultancy Arthur D. Little. Earlier in his career, Irfan worked at Halliburton Company, one of the largest oilfield service firms in the world, where he spearheaded strategic sourcing projects.

Irfan holds an MBA in strategy and finance from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University in Houston and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas in Austin.

“Irfan’s wide-ranging and deeply international experience, including in growth areas, will be an asset to AlixPartners’ clients,” said Simon Freakley, CEO of AlixPartners. “Times of unprecedented disruption are also times of entirely new opportunities, and Irfan’s skillset is a perfect fit for both. We are delighted to welcome him to AlixPartners.”
