Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) bolstered its digital transformation capabilities by appointing Al Criscuolo and Steve Kelly, based in New York and Denver respectively, as Senior Directors within the firm’s Corporate Performance Improvement (CPI) practice. Criscuolo and Kelly each bring more than 25 years’ experience leading intertwined technology and finance transformation engagements to their roles within CPI’s CFO Services group.

Criscuolo specializes in finance transformation and financial reporting, with particular expertise in the intersection between human capital, finance and accounting (F&A), and organizational change. His results-driven approach has created value for clients across multiple industries, including consumer and financial services, retail and merchant services, transportation services, food and beverage distribution, and technology and system applications.

Additionally, riscuolo has led private and public sector organizations through financial transformation and business performance modeling (FRRC), corporate performance management (CPM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), process improvement and merger integration initiatives. He is especially sought after as a leader for improving monthly close processes to decrease close cycle times, and for overseeing integration and separation planning for complex acquisitions and divestitures.

Kelly advises clients on delivering operational excellence and unlocking insights from trusted data. He has engineered performance improvement in a variety of sectors, including healthcare, insurance, real estate development, energy, professional services and financial services.

Kelly is recognized for delivering practical solutions that enable successful financial planning and analysis (FP&A), accounting and supply chain operations makeovers for clients. His specialties include ERP integration, enterprise performance management (EPM) integration, financial reporting and analysis, data analysis and reporting, financial systems design and development, business process analysis and project management.

“A&M continues to expand its finance transformation capabilities by augmenting its deep bench strength and expertise with key hires,” said Cody Chenault, Managing Director with A&M’s CPI practice and the National Solution Leader for CPI’s CFO Services practice. “Steve’s and Al’s joining builds on our strategic plan for enhancing A&M’s transformation capabilities and aligns with the recent appointment of Jonathan Zanger, who specializes in technology-led enterprise transformations. The combination of Steve’s technology proficiency and Al’s human resource operations experience dovetails with our operational heritage to help clients drive change.”

Criscuolo comes to A&M from Protiviti, Inc., where he provided financial and operational leadership to companies undergoing business transformation. While there, he managed several global client initiatives, concentrated in human capital management, payroll compensation and human resources information system (HRIS) integrations that centered around large-scale portfolio, program management, and divestiture and separation initiatives.

Prior to joining A&M, Kelly directed the financial pillar of SpearMC’s ERP practice and launched its EPM practice. In that role, he led the selection and implementation of ERP and EPM solutions for numerous clients and guided the extension of their financial systems to support their international growth targets.
