Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) appointed Matt Campbell as a Managing Director and leader of its newly revamped Talent, Organization & People management (TOP) practice within its Corporate Performance Improvement (CPI) group. TOP builds on A&M’s bench strength of human capital expertise to align with evolving market demand and help clients drive change.

Prior to joining A&M, Campbell served as a Managing Director and Practice Leader with KPMG’s Workforce and Talent Transformation practice. He brings 25 years of human capital field experience along with a focus on organizational design and effectiveness. Mr. Campbell’s consulting and in-house operations expertise will help clients solve for technology, remote work, new business models, evolving delivery methods and workforce disruption issues to maximize value.

Under his leadership, TOP’s offerings will focus on elevating the human side of business. These capabilities include:

  1. Talent: Build workforce strategies, development programs and employee value propositions that deliver on the brand promise.
  2. Organization: Align operating models, elevate organization design and fitness, and build cultures that drive positive change.
  3. People: Provide HR functional expertise, create belonging solutions to support diversity, equity and inclusion, and enhance the employee lifecycle.

“Our TOP practice will continue to capitalize on our results-oriented mindset and delivery approach. Increasingly, clients must effectively manage the human side of business to support long term, profitable growth,” said Cyndi Joiner, Managing Director and co-lead of A&M’s CPI practice.

Campbell’s leadership is bolstered by his work across multiple industries including financial services, healthcare, life sciences, technology, media, professional services, entertainment, hospitality, retail, energy, utilities and manufacturing. He advises on future-of-work issues such as business-driven organization design, technology transformation, skills-based workforce modeling and planning, remote and hybrid working model adoption, employee value proposition development and experience improvement.

“We’re operating at a time of shifting employee expectations and newly emerging work models,” Joiner noted. “Effective workforce strategies, organizational design and people management provide a competitive advantage. Propelling growth means helping clients navigate accessing and retaining top talent to enhance their organizational capabilities and foster a collaborative corporate culture. Matt’s leadership and expertise dovetails with A&M’s operational heritage, furthering our ability to solve for our clients’ complex human capital concerns.”

Campbell earned bachelor degrees in human resources and hotel management from Griffith University and a master’s degree in organizational dynamics from RMIT University.
