Medalist Partners Expands Senior Investment Team, Adds Crawley as Private Sector Manager

March 02, 2023, 07:40 AM

Medalist Partners, an alternative investment management firm focused on asset-based private credit and structured credit, announced that industry veteran Mark Crawley has joined the firm as a Private Credit Sector Manager. With extensive experience in specialty finance and opportunistic credit investing, Crawley will complement Medalist’s existing private investment capabilities and position the firm to further capitalize on current and future market opportunities.

Medalist has continued to steadily expand its platform in recent years, including the launch of its third asset-based private credit strategy in 2022. Amidst the current market volatility and tightening of credit generally, the platform has experienced a meaningful increase in potential deal flow and financing opportunities. “Mark’s investment experience and industry relationships are a strong addition to our existing capabilities,” said Michael Ardisson, President & COO of Medalist Partners.

Crawley previously worked at KLS Diversified Asset Management where he was a Partner, Portfolio Manager and Head of US Specialty Finance and ABS. Prior, he held senior investment roles at Contrarian Capital Management and Waterfall Asset Management. His primary areas of focus include private structured capital solutions and ABS investing across sectors such as aviation, equipment leasing, transportation, small business lending, consumer and other esoteric asset classes.

“We are thrilled to have Mark join the Medalist team as we continue to expand our business and seek to align ourselves with the best and brightest talent in the industry. With Mark’s nearly 30 years of investment experience and extensive industry contacts across the specialty finance market, we look forward to him playing an integral role on the team,” said Greg Richter, CEO of Medalist Partners.
