Hughes Hubbard Continues Recent Growth of Finance Practice with Addition of Berry

July 29, 2025, 07:00 AM

Hughes Hubbard & Reed announced that Andrés Berry has joined as a partner in the firm’s Banking & Financial Services practice, continuing the recent growth of the firm’s finance practice. Berry marks the third partner, alongside Francis McCabe and Daniel Leslie, to join the firm’s finance practice in 2025.

Berry's addition to the firm brings considerable experience in acquisition finance, fund finance, including NAV and subscription facilities, and asset-based finance transactions, with a particular focus on Latin America and the Caribbean. He regularly advises corporates, sponsors and financial institutions in a range of complex financing transactions, including syndicated, club and credit enhanced loan facilities, private credit, private placements, project finance and other structured financings. In addition, Berry has robust relationships with financial institutions, asset managers and various corporate clients that fit in well with the firm’s existing finance practice.

Berry will be based in the firm’s New York office and joins Hughes Hubbard from an international law firm.

“We’re delighted to continue the growth of the firm’s finance practice with the addition of Andrés,” said Neil J. Oxford, chair of Hughes Hubbard. “The combination of his exceptional experience and quality relationships makes him an ideal fit in our existing practice and will enable the firm to continue growing our Latin American finance, capital markets and corporate practices.”

“I am thrilled to join Hughes Hubbard as a partner, where I will have greater flexibility and ability to better serve my clients with comprehensive services and through collaboration with the firm’s talented lawyers across finance, corporate and tax practices, allowing me to grow the practice,” said Berry.

Berry received his JD from New York University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in political science from New York University. He is bilingual in English and Spanish. Berry is qualified to practice law in New York.
