Blank Rome announced the expansion of its Finance, Restructuring, and Bankruptcy practice with six new associates across major markets. The additions include Joseph (“Joe”) M. Robinson in Chicago, Shamila Kara in New York, and Cooper H. Moore in Dallas. Joining them are first year associates Eloise P. Greely in Houston, Brett F. Rodos in Philadelphia, and Tala R. Ansari in Los Angeles.

Joe brings extensive experience in corporate transactions, restructuring, and bankruptcy law. He advises clients on acquisition financings, syndicated loans, and strategic mergers. His practice includes negotiating complex credit agreements, handling security and pledge documents, and providing regulatory guidance across highly regulated industries. Joe joins Blank Rome after serving as vice president and assistant general counsel at JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Joe earned his J.D. from University of Illinois College of Law and holds his M.A. and B.A. from Southern Illinois University. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and serves as a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Chicago Black Men Lawyers’ Association.
Shamila focuses her practice on representing borrowers and lenders in complex financing transactions, including leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and cross-border financings. She joins Blank Rome from Goodwin Procter LLP.
Admitted to practice in New York, Shamila graduated from Georgetown University Law Center with her J.D. and earned her B.S. from Simon Fraser University. While in law school, she served on the Georgetown Environmental Law Review.
Cooper advises on corporate transactions and financial analysis, with experience in mergers and acquisitions, equity financings, and regulatory compliance. He also leads and supports due diligence efforts and deal execution for transactions ranging from multimillion-dollar mergers to asset acquisitions across a wide variety of industries. Cooper joins Blank Rome from Dorsey & Whitney LLP.
Cooper received his J.D., cum laude, from SMU Dedman School of Law, and his B.B.A, summa cum laude, from Baylor University. He is licensed to practice in Texas and is an active member of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyer’s (“DAYL”) 2025 Leadership Class, and also serves on DAYL’s Transactional Law Committee, Bolton Ball Auction Committee, and Social Committee.
Eloise earned her J.D. from University of Houston Law Center and her B.A., cum laude, from Miami University. She is admitted to practice in Texas.
Brett is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and graduated with his J.D., summa cum laude, from Temple University Beasley School of Law and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. He also holds an M.A. and B.A. from Tulane University.
Tala received her J.D. from University of Southern California Gould School of Law and her B.A. from University of Virginia.
