TMA Chicago/Midwest Chapter Announces 2015 Officers, Directors

Aaron L. Hammer of Sugar Felsenthal Grais & Hammer LLP and Mike Egan, Monroe Capital LLC, have been named President and President-Elect, respectively, of the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA Chicago/Midwest).

Joining Hammer and Egan as 2015 officers are Zach Garrett, Goldberg Kohn Ltd., who remains as Vice President, Communications; Mark Melickian, Sugar Felsenthal Grais & Hammer LLP, as Vice President, Education; Barb Yong, Golan & Christie LLP, Vice President, Programs; John Kemp, Wolverine Partners, who remains Treasurer; Nick Miller, Neal Gerber & Eisenberg, Secretary; and Dan Wikel, Huron Consulting Group, Past President.

New directors elected to serve three-year terms on the chapter's board are Lou Marosi, Linkage Capital Management LLC; Ben Smith, Huron Consulting Group; and Angela Allen, Jenner & Block LLP.

"We are excited to begin a new year and to incorporate new ideas to advance our chapter goals," said incoming President Hammer. "As the leading professional development organization for corporate renewal and turnaround professionals, we believe we offer the most innovative programs, professional development and educational support that benefit our members, corporate sponsors and the industry as a whole."

"As my term as the Chicago / Midwest TMA President comes to a close, I want to thank our committee members who volunteer their time and expertise to continuously improve our annual programs during this, the Year of Committees. Under their guidance, the chapter made several notable changes, including unique programming topics and speakers, venues and different events that reenergized our chapter and helped to engage new members," says outgoing President Dan Wikel, Huron Consulting Group and 2014 President. "Under the leadership of incoming President Aaron Hammer, the organization is well-positioned to advance our chapter into the New Year."

In all, more than 60 volunteer leaders, including officers, directors and committee chairs and members, comprise the Chicago/Midwest Leadership team.

The Chicago/Midwest Chapter of The Turnaround Management Association is one of the largest, fastest-growing chapters of the only international non-profit association dedicated to corporate renewal and turnaround management. Incorporated in 1991, the award-winning 1,000-member Chicago/Midwest Chapter will be celebrating its 23rd year of serving its community. Its active membership participates in more than 30 events annually, including educational workshops, networking programs, forums, and conferences.
