Wurst Receives the 2015 Honorable Burton R. Lifland Mentor of the Year Award

Ruskin Moscou Faltischek P.C. announced that at this year’s NYIC Future Leaders Awards Ceremony & Reception, held on October 29th, Jeffrey A. Wurst received the Honorable Burton R. Lifland Mentor of the Year Award.  This award is presented annually to an Industry Leader who has given guidance and direction to future leaders in the financial, credit, restructuring and bankruptcy communities. Jonathan S. Bodner, Mr. Wurst’s mentee, friend and law partner, presented the award. In presenting the award, Bodner described Wurst as being a creative out of the box thinker and a mensch. 

Wurst, in his acceptance remarks, discussed his passion for working with developing lawyers, which he described as a natural extension from his prior career as a school teacher.  He highlighted his long-standing relationship with his former students and his legal prodigies as well as discussing those who mentored him, which included certain of his teachers ranging from elementary school through law school, as well as his partner, Douglas Good and his late partner Joseph Moscou. Wurst emphasized the efforts of his colleagues within his own department as having been critical to his ability to grow and achieve.

The New York Institute of Credit (NYIC) was founded in 1918 as the New York Chapter of the National Institute of Credit (NIC). As a non-profit organization, NYIC has attempted to bridge the gap between business theory and business practice in the credit and restructuring industry.
