Alvarez & Marsal Expands Valuation Services Practice

Leading global professional services firm  Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) continues to expand its Valuation Services practice with the addition of Managing Directors Corey Bleil and David Dufendach, Senior Director Angelo Lorenzana and Senior Advisor Barry Radick. These hires are in response to increasing demand for specialized valuation knowledge across multiple business lines and demonstrate A&M’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions for clients.

Bleil joins the Transaction Opinion practice’s New York office and will focus on providing fairness and solvency opinions. His transaction advisory experience encompasses a broad range of industries, with an emphasis in the healthcare, industrial services, manufacturing and consumer sectors. Prior to joining A&M, Bleil was Head of Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Finance in the Healthcare Banking group at RBS Citizens. He also served as Director, Mergers & Acquisitions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Senior Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions at Jefferies & Company.

Dufendach, based in the Seattle office, specializes in the valuation of complex financial instruments, including equity and debt securities, free-standing and embedded derivatives, hybrid instruments, warrants, employee stock options and earn-outs. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Dufendach was a Partner with Grant Thornton and served as a national leader for complex financial instruments and as a national technical expert on numerous valuation topics. He is an adjunct professor at Seattle University and a frequent guest lecturer on financial topics at the University of Washington.

Lorenzana joins the New York office. He advises clients on the valuation of companies and illiquid securities across various asset classes and strategies utilized by hedge funds, private equity firms and corporations. Prior to joining A&M, Lorenzana was a Senior Vice President in the Financial Advisory Services Division at Houlihan Lokey focusing on valuations for alternative asset managers and executing credit-related transactions in connection with mergers and acquisitions and restructuring initiatives. Additionally, he has held positions as a credit analyst, risk analyst, assistant trust officer and management associate in a corporate and commercial banking platform.

Radick joins the New York office and will focus on the development of A&M’s Transaction Opinion practice assisting with valuation issues in restructuring and solvency matters. Radick is a retired Partner and former Co-head of the Bankruptcy and Restructuring practice at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, where he advised reorganizing companies and represented creditor and shareholder interests in restructurings and bankruptcy situations. He has also served as a fiduciary for court-directed situations. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Radick served as a Managing Director with American Appraisal and with Huron Consulting Group’s Restructuring practice. Radick is a member of the New York City Bar Association.
