June 21, 2016, 07:13 AM

Cross River Bank announced the appointment of Arlen Gelbard to EVP, General Counsel; and Geoffrey Kott to SVP, Head of Capital Markets and Corporate Strategy. Gelbard and Kott will report to Cross River Bank, CEO Gilles Gade.

“I am thrilled to welcome Arlen and Geoffrey to the Cross River Bank leadership team,” said Gade. “Both of these individuals possess extraordinary skills, expertise and seasoned leadership that will ensure the bank continues on its path of smart, strategic growth serving the needs of our customers, our community and our investors.”

In his role as EVP, General Counsel, Gelbard brings to Cross River an extensive portfolio of expertise advising, managing and operating in dynamic and complex legal and regulatory environments for global, multi-billion-dollar publicly traded financial institutions and smaller, private entities.

Gelbard recently served as a Senior Advisor at Treliant Risk Advisors. Previously he held executive leadership and general counsel positions at Stifel Bank & Trust; Acacia Federal Savings Bank; Jefferson National Financial Corp.; and E*TRADE Financial Corporation.

As SVP, Head of Capital Markets and Corporate Strategy, Kott brings to his role extensive experience building and leading large multi-billion-dollar global businesses focused on securitization and asset-backed products, including consumer, residential, commercial, and corporate loan based assets.

Kott, a seasoned executive, joins Cross River after spending nearly a decade at Morgan Stanley in New York City where he served as a Managing Director and the Global Head of the Securitized Products Asset-Based Lending Group. Previously, he practiced as an attorney with McKee Nelson, a former International law firm, where he specialized in structured finance.

Cross River is a New Jersey State Chartered FDIC-insured bank. Cross River has developed strategic partnerships with financial technology leaders to build fully compliant and integrated solutions for the marketplace lending and payment processing arenas. As disintermediation and financial independence increasingly fuel the new economy, Cross River is uniquely positioned to service both the established giants and the growing list of new entrants into these sectors.
