Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice and Global Private Equity Industry Group with the addition of Saam Golshani, Alexis Hojabr and Guillaume Vitrich as partners in Paris.

“Saam is one of the most recognised partners in the Paris market and his arrival, alongside Alexis and Guillaume, sends a strong signal that White & Case is committed to continuing to build a leading financial sponsor team in France,” says White & Case partner John Reiss, Head of the Firm’s Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. “As we continue to expand our role advising clients on their most important, complex, cross-border deals, these lawyers add further strength to the team in Paris across the key investor segments active in the French market.”

Denise Diallo, White & Case Executive Partner in Paris, says: “These new partners are an excellent fit with our existing M&A, private equity and restructuring teams in Paris. Together, we will continue to raise our profile in the French market and grow our footprint, particularly among financial investors and alternative capital providers. Our new partners are highly regarded lawyers with strong relationships throughout the financial sponsor community in Paris, London and across Europe. They’re an exciting strategic fit with our successful and growing EMEA private equity team, and will help drive our ongoing expansion in key investor segments including traditional private equity, alternative capital providers, family offices and infrastructure.”

Widely recognised as a leading lawyer in France, Saam Golshani is a mergers and acquisitions and restructuring partner who advises multinational clients on both cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, as well as advising on private equity, alternative capital and technology transactions. Golshani also advises creditors, debtors, investors and potential buyers on the many issues arising from challenging situations, corporate reorganisations and insolvency proceedings. With more than 20 years of experience, he joins White & Case from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, where he led the French M&A-Private Equity Group and was co-Head of the European Restructuring Group.

Hojabr is a mergers and acquisitions, private equity and restructuring lawyer. Dual qualified in France and England and Wales, he advises infrastructure, energy, transport and telecommunications clients on cross-border and French transactions. Hojabr also advises on multi-creditor and financial restructurings involving alternative investors, hedge funds and distressed companies. He has more than ten years of experience and joins White & Case from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, where he was a partner.

Vitrich is a mergers and acquisitions and private equity lawyer. His practice covers a wide range of corporate transactions across Europe and Africa, including extensive experience advising on complex mergers and acquisitions in a number of sectors including energy, mining and infrastructure. He has more than ten years of experience and joins White & Case from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, where he was counsel.

“White & Case is a recognised global leader in complex, cross-border restructurings, insolvencies and workouts,” says White & Case partner Christian Pilkington, who heads the Firm’s non-contentious financial restructuring and insolvency team in EMEA, “and the arrival of Saam, Alexis and Guillaume brings a compelling new dimension to the service we can provide to our clients.”

Partner Oliver Brettle, a member of White & Case’s global Executive Committee, says: “The arrival of Saam, Alexis and Guillaume supports our strategic growth objectives. It represents further expansion in our Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice and our Global Financial Restructuring & Insolvency Practice, as well as in key global industries including private equity and technology. They join a strong existing EMEA private equity team which has continued to expand during 2018 with a number of internal partner promotions and the lateral partner additions in London of Mike Weir from Jones Day and Emmie Jones from Macfarlanes.”
