November 02, 2020, 09:10 AM

eCapital, a leading alternative finance provider in North America, announced that Tony Howard, formerly chief credit officer, has been named chief credit and portfolio officer of eCapital Corp. In his expanded role, Howard will oversee and manage credit risk and policy and portfolio performance across the company and participate in acquisition initiatives. The announcement underscores eCapital’s commitment to unifying and aligning its business operations.

“eCapital is growing rapidly,” said Marius Silvasan, chief executive officer, eCapital. “By centralizing and expanding Tony’s role, he can ensure compliance with appropriate risk management protocols and implement proper and consistent operational measures as needed so we can continue to grow at an accelerated rate. Also, Tony will be a tremendous asset in managing portfolios across the company and assisting us with our acquisition strategy.”

“In my nearly five years working for eCapital, I’ve been a part of its incredible growth and expansion, both organically and through its acquisition of several companies and portfolios,” said Tony Howard, chief credit and portfolio officer. “I am looking forward to having an even greater impact on our growth as we integrate these portfolios and build out our diverse lines of business, including working closely with all our business units including the freight factoring and commercial finance divisions and our portfolio company, Gerber Finance.”

Howard is a seasoned credit and risk management executive with more than 20 years of international finance experience. Before eCapital, Howard served as managing director of CBIZ, Inc., managing director at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and director with KPMG’s Corporate Finance Group in Atlanta. He has worked across a broad spectrum of companies, including many major banking and commercial finance companies in the United States and Canada.
