Victory Park Capital (“VPC”), a leading global alternative investment firm specializing in private credit, announced that Justin Maleson has expanded his role to Managing Director of the firm’s legal credit investment strategy. Maleson, who joined VPC in 2024 as Assistant General Counsel, will co-head the strategy with Chad Clamage, Managing Director and work closely Hugo Lestiboudois and Andrew Pascal who are dedicated to the strategy.  Richard Levy, VPC CEO, CIO & Founder will continue to oversee the strategy.

“Justin is the perfect fit to help lead and expand our legal credit strategy,” said Levy. “He has a wealth of experience in operating within this space, and he demonstrates a deep understanding of how the firm’s strategy can meet the financing needs of the legal industry and drive value for our investors. We look forward to his contributions to our legal credit team.”

In his expanded role, Maleson will be responsible for sourcing, analyzing, executing, and managing investments within the legal industry. He is a member of the firm’s Legal Credit Investment Committee. Mr. Maleson also assists with oversight of the firm’s legal operations in his role as Assistant General Counsel.

VPC’s legal credit team is comprised of veteran litigators, legal finance investors, and seasoned private credit professionals. The firm takes an asset-backed lending approach to the legal asset class, emphasizing downside protection and current income streams. With its deep expertise and extensive industry relationships, VPC is well-positioned to capitalize on market inefficiencies and pursue opportunities across the full spectrum of legal asset types and structures while creating resilience against market volatility and delivering long-term value for investors.

“VPC is a trusted, sophisticated credit provider with a proven track record in the legal credit space,” Maleson said. “I look forward to working with the rest of the team to build a thoughtfully diversified portfolio of asset-backed legal assets, underpinned by the firm’s disciplined investment process and rigorous risk management framework.”

Previously, Maleson was a director at Longford Capital, where he was responsible for originating litigation finance opportunities, conducting due diligence, and managing commercial investments. Before that, he was a litigation partner at Jenner & Block, where he advised and represented clients on an array of complex and high-value commercial and intellectual property matters in the U.S. and abroad. Maleson is an active member of the Illinois Bar.
