Robert Lau, Partner, Carl Marks Advisors Robert “Bobby” Lau has more than 30 years of experience as a senior executive in the U.S. financial markets. He leads Carl Marks Advisors’ nationwide business development. Prior to joining Carl Marks, Mr. Lau was a senior vice president at CIT Group Inc., where he focused on building and maintaining a diverse referral source network with equity sponsors, investment banks, attorneys, and turnaround professionals. In addition to CIT, Mr. Lau held senior positions at The Bank of New York, Heller Corporate Finance, and IBJ Whitehall Financial Group. His experience included sourcing, structuring, and underwriting asset based and leveraged financings across a wide spectrum of industries. Mr. Lau earned a BA in Economics from The University of Georgia and an MBA in Corporate Finance from Georgia State University. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association.
