Jeff Thuringer, a Founding Partner and Head of Business Loan Investments, Hyland Hill Investment Partners, meets with Michael Toglia, Publisher of ABL Advisor, to discuss the state of the distressed commercial real estate (CRE) market and the many factors that are creating an increased level of uncertainty and distress for both lenders and borrowers. Thuringer outlines how rising interest rates, declines in valuations, rent rates and occupancy, as well as increased capital expenditure burdens on landlords to provide healthier and environmentally safe facilities, are converging to negatively impact the CRE market.
