July 06, 2015, 07:55 AM

FTI Consulting, Inc., the global business advisory firm dedicated to helping organizations protect and enhance their enterprise value, announced the appointment of Nitin Kumar as Senior Managing Director in the firm's Telecom, Media & Technology ("TMT") practice. He will join the Technology team within TMT and will be based in New York City.

Kumar is a global technology company executive and management consultant with 17 years of leadership experience assisting companies in all stages of their life cycle including start-up, high growth and turnaround. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Kumar served as a Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers ("PwC"), where he focused on M&A offerings including operational, commercial and IT due diligence, carve-outs and merger integration with emphasis on sales, marketing, service, products and pricing improvement. Before joining PwC, Mr. Kumar successfully helped lead the start-up of the Global Delivery practice at Deloitte, where he served as a Practice Leader, and the start-up of a global IT security practice at Hewlett-Packard ("HP").

"We are excited to welcome Nitin to FTI Consulting," said Carlyn Taylor, Global Industry Leader and Head of FTI Consulting's TMT practice. "Nitin's deep industry expertise aligns with our team's merger integration and business transformation focus. Adding Nitin to our team is part of our larger strategy to enhance our successful merger integration consulting services. Our expert driven approach to integration, using deep industry knowledge, is a significant differentiator for FTI Consulting and has led to many integration engagements in telecom, media and healthcare in particular. Given his experience, Nitin will be leading that effort in the technology sector, where we believe there is strong demand for our offering."

In his new role, Kumar will work with selected technology sectors undergoing transformational change. He will focus on the entire deal continuum ranging from M&A and divestiture strategy, pre-deal due diligence (commercial, customer, operational and IT), merger integration, divestiture/carve-out and post-deal performance improvement.
